Maybe some Pelà and Carpano fans can add more information about my Team Carpano bike I restored (serial number #3262).
I purchased the frame in Torino, and had the frame repainted by Giovanni Nencini in Florence (his dad won the TDF with Carpano). When Pela finished building bikes his tools went to Tomassini (the shop confirmed this), and Giovanni said there is a Pela register with Tomassini (i.e. frame numbers), so we could work out the serial number. All the early 1960 Carpanos have the serial number on the top of the seat tube and on the fork tube. Anyways he spoke to Tomassini but I didn't hear back.
This one I rebuilt doesn't have the oil port at the back of the head tube, so a later version of the 1960s model.
Any info would be grateful. Was hoping it was Italo Zililio's bike as in the photo, but think mine is a fraction smaller than his.
