Preislich ja, qualitativ nein. Verarbeitung war irgendwo zwischen 105 und 600. Aber ihre Innovationen wie bspw die erste 7-fach Roadversion vor DA machen sie heute im Rückblick zu etwas besonderem. Hier mal ein schöner Bericht zum Schaltwerk...
Everybody remembers the Shimano Santé groupset for its pretentious name, its pretentious white colouring and its embarrasing pretentions to attract a new high value consumer to cycling. Shimano didn’t help by claiming that Santé had a ‘high-tech look of pure precision’. Hmmm...



In our bike shop, we certainly struggled to work out how to get the e-acute to appear correctly in Pagemaker on our new Apple Macintosh computer. We also struggled to ‘attract a new high value consumer to cycling’ - particularly as the UK had just plunged into recession following Black Monday. Norman Lamont may have been singing in his bath (or was that on Black Wednesday? How many times a week did Norman bathe?) - but that didn’t help us sell any Santé.



Look beneath the lustrous hype and the Shimano Santé is one of the most innovative and influential derailleurs in recent history. Its all-over-painted look set the tone for Shimano’s road derailleurs for the next decade, and marked the road product out as looking distinctly different from the mountain bike equipment. It dispensed with the external Allen bolt head on the front knuckle for the first time. It had ceramic bushings in its pulley wheels, and was the first Shimano derailleur to support seven speeds (even before Dura-Ace). It had a plastic ‘pusher plate’ on the flange of the outer pulley cage plate to make changing smooth and silent. It is tiny in a way that previous Shimano road derailleurs were not, but Ultegra most certainly was.



And it was innovative in other ways, even though these may not have caught on. It has one adjustment screw in each knuckle, like a Gian Robert. The pulley bolts do not show from the outside and the outer cage plate is an intricate casting.



Santé was dismissed at the time as a groupset for dilettanté poseurs, but I have noticed that nearly every Santé derailleur that I have ever seen has had heavy use and a thorough dose of road rash. Ebay is hooching with mint examples of Dura-Ace 7400 and Record C, but, strangely, Santé seems to be out there putting in the miles. Beauty must suffer.

Zur Abschreckung: das kurze Schaltwerk schafft nur 26 und das lange habe ich hier noch nie rumfliegen sehen.

An einem 1951er Express Mailand-München Sportrad waren die aus den Fotos ersichtlichen Naben (F&S) samt Drahtreifenfelgen (Weinmann) sowie ein Versol-Kettenschaltung verbaut.

Die Naben sind zeitlich stimmig, aber gilt das auch für die Felgen? Das Logo sieht mir reichlich modern aus.

Weitere Frage, die ich aber tendentiell selbst beantworten kann: Könnte man die Naben stimmig an einem Rennradrahmen verwenden?

Der Wert interessiert mich nicht so.

Die Naben sind zeitlich stimmig, aber gilt das auch für die Felgen? Das Logo sieht mir reichlich modern aus.

Weitere Frage, die ich aber tendentiell selbst beantworten kann: Könnte man die Naben stimmig an einem Rennradrahmen verwenden?

Der Wert interessiert mich nicht so.

Insbesondere gab es zu der Zeit noch nicht die Bezeichnung 700c, es gab zu der Zeit aber Felgen in der Art . z.B von
.Altenburger.

Profiamateur - Standard geht natürlich anders
Mit 2 Std. sieht das aber schon mal einigermaßen gut aus...

Technisch wird das sehr ok sein
Aber wir hauen ja entweder richtig auf die kacke oder fahren 105er

So eine polierte Sante wäre bestimmt schick, wenn der Profi die erst in den Fingern hatte. Die Form ist ja gefällig. Danach gerne weiß eloxieren...

700C ist ein franz. Maßnezeichnung, die 1951 bereits verwendet wurde, vgl. Auszug aus dem Peugeot Flyer 1951.

Für mich ist das ein TDF – Anbauteile und 3 Rohre Reynolds, sind die Ausfallenden Simplex oder Campa, sehen aus wie Campa, dann könnte es doch ein umgebautes SC sein, oder?

Dem Rohrsatzaufkleber nach zu urteilen ein TdF.
The Super Corsa was a model made for the US market only. They were introduced in 1968.
The European equivalent of the Super Corsa was the Olympic model. They were same bikes except for the names.
They had all Reynolds 531 frames with 1/2 chrome plated forks and rear stays plus Campagnolo rear dropouts. Fork ends Campagnolo or Huret.
Both models came with all Campagnolo components except fro MAFAC brakes. Some of both models did come with Campagnolo brakes after 1970.

Der Aufkleber sieht aber mehr nach diesem hier aus. Nur die hauptrohre aus Reynolds. Zudem glaube ich, dass das Rad auf Grund der Huret Schaltung auch Huret Ausfallenden hat. Spricht auch für das TdF-Modell.

Edith: Huret Ausfaller steht ja im Beschreibungstext. Also für mich 100%ig TdF.
