Paratella build only 25-40 frames a year and in total ca. 700-800.
Famous for his refined production of espically road & stayer frames.

together with Pelà, Picchio and Beltramo the magic four master framebuilders of turin.

Close friend of Tullio Campagnolo with whom he raced togheter in the "Niccolò Biondi Capri" team in the 30s.
As stated in the by Campagnolo, in limited number, published book "il gigante e la lima", Tullio before releasing a component on the market, always visited (Corrado) Paratella to get his opinion and have it tested.

Tommasini told about his teacher Pelà

"Pelà was tough," says Tommasini. 'He made seven frames and seven forks a day. By himself. He didn't have jigs. People went there and understood nothing of what he did. We remained friends and every now and then he would say: 'I'll stop in a few years'. When I went to Turin, maybe passing by Nisi's (famous for rims) to buy parts, then I would stop at his place. If I asked him for anything he would make it for me. Something that others, even very high-profile ones, didn't do'.

Tommasini lights up remembering his master and friend. 'He made a frame in four hours, for Bracke (a Belgian cyclist), for the Hour Record. You live off these things here'.
Anhang anzeigen 1465888Una bicicletta, quando è fatta bene, è da ammirare. E per farla bene ci sono dei particolari che tanti non vedono. Anche nella saldatura, che è importante. La saldatura delle congiunzioni tanti la limavano. Dicevano: “Ora poi c’è da limare…” Ma la congiunzione non la devi limare. La devi tirare prima. Poi quando la vai a saldare ci vuole tecnica. Prima si saldava con il propano e l’ossigeno. Veniva un bel dardo e da questo potevi dargli la forma che volevi. Quando avevi finito saldarvi il tutto, con il sistema del Pelà. Si tirava indietro il cannello e l’ossigeno faceva come il riccio, si ritirava, e la congiunzione rimaneva pulita».

A bicycle 🚲 , when it is well made, it is to be admired. And to do it well, there are details that
many people don't see. Even in the brazing, which is important. The brazing
of the joints, a lot of people used to file it down. They used to say: ‘Now you have to file...’
But you don't file the joint. You have to pull it first.
Then when you braze it, it requires technique. They used to braze with propane and
oxygen. It would come out a nice dart and from that you could give it the shape you wanted. When you were done, you would braze it with the Pelà system.
You would pull back the torch and the oxygen would make like a hedgehog 🦔, it would withdraw
and the joint would stay clean.

Schon krank die durchschnittliche Qualitaet seiner Rahmen, bei diesen Produktionsvermoegen oder lieber Schaffungswille :D / Leistungsvermoegen, sieben Rahmen und Gabeln rauszuhauen am Tag, war ja schon ein Ein-Loeter Laden.. mit Ehefrau und zwei Zuarbeitern, gehe mal von den Giame Bruedern aus!
Die Qualitaet gereichte von Masi s, zu Merckx unter Faema (1968-69) wohl und sicherlich unter Faemino-Faema (1970) wie das ganze Team einfach oder in 4h fuer Ferdinando »Ferdi« Bracke 🇧🇪 ein Stundenrekord Bahnrad (1968), erster ueber 48 km in einer Stunde...

Ja, ich glaube dasselbe Anselmo CX Losa samt Nisi Mixer Felgen, schonmal zwei Schnappschuesse auf einem Fahrradmarkt, eingestellt, unter das einzige Crovi Losa.
Sonst noch das verchromte Losa Aero mit ramata Muffen, nun in HongKong....

und der Nachfolger praktisch, kein Cinelli SCM Feinguss Tretlagergehaeuse mehr mit dem ab 1978/79, die Heraldik verabschiedend, neuen "Cinelli alata" (winged) or flying C Logo, entworfen von Italo Lupi, (passend zur Uebernahme '78 Cinelli s, durch den Columbus Eigner Antonio Colombo), das ab 1984 erschienene "Spoiler" Tretlagergehaeuse (mit ehemaligen Patent fuer ein Feinguss Tretlagergehaeuse!)! wie die moderne Version einer "Unicrown" Gabelkrone! ;- ) 🙏🏾
