Auf der Suche nach einem dunkelgrünen Rad mit weissem Lenker bin ich auf einen weiteren Designvorschlag gestoßen. Kupferfarben wäre an einem Stahlrad natürlich superscharf. Es gab ja mal eine Zeit in der das mit Chromhinterbauten schwer in Mode war. Also kupfer-metallic, weisser Lenker, weisser
Sattel und weisse Cinelliaufkleber. Das wäre ganz großes Kino!
Für einen Aufbau ähnlich dem Pearl kannst du dann ja noch ein bißchen sparen... (und ich auch :heul: )

Thermacrom: It is the latest result of recent studies on the new welding methods and on the behavior of the structure under successive heat cycles. Thermacrom can be considered to be a development of the Nivacrom alloy and the ultra-fine structures resulting from the secondary precipitation of stable carbides. Thermacrom is a steel microalloyed with manganese, chrome, molybdenum and vanadium. These elements produce a marked increase in temperability, a reduction in sensitivity to overheating which ensures that a fine-grain metal structure will be obtained after welding, more able to withstand fatigue stresses, better characteristics of strength and tenacity and better characteristics of resistance to corrosion and wear. Thermacrom is born for very top-of-the-range frames that require the highest benefits.

The Foco tube set is the latest in the Columbus research: they are made in Thermacrom, a micro-alloyed steel refined to the Bessemer converter, hot rolled, cold-drawn at different sequences and last of all thermally treated . manganese, Chrome, molybdenum, and vanadium portioned in a knowledgeable way in order to get the best mechanical performance by means of a series of thermic treatments (breaking load with transition 1250 - 1450 N/mm² ) allow to diminish tube thickness so as to get closer to the lightness in weight of the best aluminum frames. Vanadium lowers the over sensitivity due to overheating and following welding, keeps a grain structure constant, and homogeneous that increases fatigue resistance. Manganese improves resistance characteristics and thoughness. Chrome and molybdenum increase corrosion and wear resistance. The low percentage of carbon allows excellent weldability. The fire alchemy
Following hot drawing and shaping processes Foco's new tube-sets undergo thermic treatment that takes place at four stages. The first stage of thermic treating is carried out in vertical ovens and by means of forced endogas circulation so as to ensure the constant carbon content. The tubes are accurately stowed in thermically balanced containers. They are brought to a temperature for a sufficient amount of time in order to transform the tube structure in austenite. The tube then undergoes quick cooling in oil for sufficient time for martensite forming process: the material acquires extremely high mechanical characteristics but it is not yet usable for cycling use. Stress relieving treatment is the most delicate phase. It secures the structure and preparing it so that gives its maximum mechanical characteristics following welding. The final thermic treatment is carried out by the frame builder himself, through welding and in fact it is with the assembled frame that Thermacrom steel reaches its optimized values that make up the right alchemy in order to get tubes with the best fatigue behaviour that are available today in the cycling field.
Magic takes shape
Thanks to Thermacrom exceptional mechanical properties and to its excellent workability characteristics, Foco has been invented: a set of thin, light and reliable tubes with round asymmetric butted end, further reduced, and with an area for cutting, localized at only one end. The new Megatube® shapes, allow the realizing of personalized frames that are extremely rigid at flexion at a vertical plane, with excellent rigid torsion characteristics and weight content.
